MON JADE: Our Story

In 2020, like many people, I felt at a loss when it came to occupying myself and staying positive through the lockdown. During that time however, I began to enjoy spending my time happily sewing in my room, creating new pieces and designs that only my family would see.

Sewing has been a passion of mine since my Nanny Val first taught me how to start up a sewing machine and thread a needle back when I was around 9 years old. I've always been creative but never felt that I had the skills to show the world what I could think up in my mind, until my Nan gave me those first tools. 

Since then, I've been sewing and designing boutique, indie, retro, high-fashion and just-for-fun clothes and bits and bobs from my bedroom. Towards the end of the lockdown I felt that it might be time to start showing the world some of my ideas, leading to the birth of Mon Jade.

My hopes for this little shop of mine are to build an independent service for girls, boys and anyone else who cares to join to get the same feeling that I do when I can wear something handmade and personalised to me. I hope is to one day be able to give someone a little piece of my passion, through my creations.
